Fabric details

Made from 100% sustainable cotton, hand-block printed. Each print is stamped onto the fabric by hand with carved blocks, so small variations in the pattern are part of its charm. Cotton is soft on the skin, light to wear and breathable, making it a good choice for warm days and travel.

Care instructions

• Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, or hand wash
• Wash separately the first time, as colours can bleed
• Do not bleach
• Dry in the shade, away from direct sun
• Iron on medium heat on the reverse side of the print

The story behind the Nanyuki Dress

The Nanyuki Dress began with a simple idea: a beautiful, easy dress made well, by people we know and trust.

Every dress is sewn by tailors at Wildlife Works in Voi, Kenya. We travelled there to see it for ourselves: to watch the fabric being cut, the dresses being stitched and the finished pieces hung ready to wear. What stayed with us was the care in the room, and how much pride the team takes in their work.

We chose five prints for this first release, from palms to bold red flowers, and made each one in limited quantities. When a print is gone, it is gone.

About Wildlife Works and the people who make your dress

Wildlife Works is a conservation company working in the Kasigau Corridor in south-eastern Kenya, protecting dryland forest and wildlife between Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks. Its factory gives local people steady work in tailoring and production, offering alternatives to income from things like poaching and illegal tree cutting.

That is why we chose to make the Nanyuki Dress there. The tailors who sew your dress are part of their local community, and your purchase supports good work close to home.
